Every year in September, one Saturday is set aside to celebrate Community League Day. (Watch for this years poster in your mail, Facebook, or this site in the fall).
This day is all about showcasing community leagues, the volunteers and the great work they do for their communities, but most of all, it’s about welcoming new members into the community league movement.
While it’s a great opportunity to showcase the many accomplishments of leagues such as amenity development and various program operations, probably one of the greatest by-products is the camaraderie that develops between neighbours when they become involved with their community.
That camaraderie comes to the forefront on Community League Day, when everyone – organizers and attendees alike – realize they are celebrating the creation of a wonderful neighbourhood.
